UP Celebrity Golf – Schedule

Schedule of Events 2013:

Wednesday, June 26
6:00 PM: Marquette Golf Club: Under the Big Tent

Match Party

We call it a “Match Party” because on this night we match our celebrities with the teams they’ll be playing with the following day. Matches are made by drawing the sponsored teams at the level of sponsorship and order of registration. The ‘first come’ are truly the ‘first served’! This private party- exclusively for our celebrity golfers and sponsored golf teams- launches our event in the most spectacular way! Held under the Big Tent at Marquette Golf Club and catered by CEC Tommy Wahlstrom and the lovely Elizabeth Wahlstrom, this is THE cocktail party of the season! The gourmet food alone is enough to make you want to attend; then throw Steve Mariucci along with dozens of nationally known celebrities from the sports and entertainment world and a live auction of donated sports memorabilia into the mix… and you’ve got a winner! Music, entertainment, celebrities all add to the excitement and anticipation for the next day’s golf event of the year!

The Upper Peninsula Celebrity Golf Classic

Greywalls & Heritage Courses

36 Teams paired with 36 Celebrities on Greywalls. 36 Teams with 36 Celebrities on Heritage. 18 holes each of the best golf day you’ve ever had. The courses will challenge you but the service will delight you! Marquette Golf Club’s finest, along with Steve Mariucci and Tom Izzo will be there to send your teams off to your designated starting hole at 10 am sharp, and will then wine and dine you through the day with gourmet food and beverage stations on each course. While there’s no prize for most consumption, you’ll have a hard time resisting the tasty treats from the classic “Yooper Station” and other chef’s gourmet selections along the way.

5:00 PM: 19th Hole Party

Under the Big Tent at Marquette Golf Club

It’s all over but the shouting! And the bragging and laughing… and maybe a little more cocktailing and dining. The 19th Hole Party will take place immediately following the end of play, and will be the epicenter of the day’s delightful conclusion. With more wonderful gourmet plates from CEC Tommy Wahlstrom and Elizabeth’s Chop House, desserts, cold beer, chilled wines and cocktails as the backdrop for the awards ceremony, Steve Mariucci and friends will present the UPCGC Classic Trophies for Best Event Score, Best Greywalls Team Score and Best Heritage Team Score. Stories will be told, photos taken, numbers exchanged and autographs signed, and more great memories will have been made. In the end, Beacon House hopes everyone wins with our goal of one annual operating expense budget having been made and 288 golfers, 72 celebrities and dozens of volunteers and staff happy, full and starting to plan for next year.
